Are Christians to Worship on the Sabbath Day?

What is the Sabbath day?

· Exodus 16:26 Six days you shall gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will be none.

· Matthew 28:1 In the end of the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week,.

The Sabbath is Saturday, the seventh day of the week.

On what day did the first Christians worship?

The New Testament tells when they worshipped.

· Acts 20:7 And upon the first day of the week, when the disciples came together to break bread, Paul preached unto them,.

· I Corinthians 16:2 Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.

Important Questions:

1. Do we want to go back to Sabbath day worship, under the law

    of Moses? Why would we?

 2. Do we want to go back to animal sacrifices, and other Jewish    

    practices, such as worshipping on the Sabbath?

· Why would the Christian want to live under a law that was before Christ?  This would be a step backward.

· Heb 8: 6 Christ is the mediator of a better covenant, which is established on better promises!

Christians are to worship God on every first day of the week, Sunday.
